Frequently Asked Questions
-
I only conduct lessons online.

With the right equipment, there is no clear difference in outcome between the two options. I have had multiple students studying GCSE and A-levels who got highest grades with online lessons. But in my experience, students with SEN requirements may struggle with online lessons.
-
No, I conduct free consultation to meet the students and parents, assess their goals and current difficulties, and to build a plan before any paid commitment.

After initial consultation, payments are made in advance for the month via bank transfer (block payment based on the plan agreed). Some people prefer to make a block payment for ten sessions in advance. The payment schedule can be discussed in the initial consultation.
-
There is 48 hours notice required for any cancellations as I usually prepare for the tutorial in advance. If you do need to cancel at shorter notice, I reserve the right to take half the fee for the session.
If I need to cancel for any reason, I will contact you as soon as possible and offer an alternative date or refund.

For the online tuition, I use shared whiteboard which can run on either Chrome or Safari browsers. You will need some way of interacting with the whiteboard (a pen or stylus). You must be able to connect to the website in your country through your normal connection or a VPN.
-
Not unless you wish to! All resources will be sent to the students and the whiteboard records everything we do in the tutorial.
